who we are

the stage is set for young musicians

The 815 provides a unique opportunity for young musicians to perform monthly.  All ages 5 through 21, all forms of music, and all instruments are welcome.

There is no fee to participate or attend.

See our Monthly Performances tab for dates and monthly themes.

Our performances are held at The Forge at 22 West Cass Street in downtown Joliet. You can learn more about The Forge right here

The goal of The 815 is to teach young performers about performing, performance etiquette, working together and supporting each other as artists, as well as to challenge them as musicians.

The 815 is a non-profit 501c3 organization. If you'd like to donate, click on the "Donate" button at the bottom of this page.

who we are not

We are NOT affiliated with any one music or fine arts studio in the area (like School of Rock), nor do we require any performer to belong to or take classes from a fine arts studio. We welcome any performer at any level.

We are NOT requiring any performer to "pay to play." That means performers can sign up as often as they'd like, have access to a full-backing band if they wish, and never pay a cent for their time on stage.

We are NOT charging tickets to our shows. That means every event we put on is FREE to the public. And we intend to keep it that way.

We are NOT about the drama. We expect every performer to be kind, courteous, and respectful to each of their fellow performers.

How to get involved in

Three easy steps

STEP 1: COME TO A SHOW

It's free. Here's our schedule. We think you'll like what you see.

STEP 2: SIGN UP TO PERFORM

If you like what you see, sign up to perform next month.

STEP 3: PERFORM YOUR SONG

You can accompany yourself, or we can provide accompaniment too.
